英検準１級に合格したけれど、英検１級の単語が難しいし多すぎて覚えるのが大変。日々忙しいし、地道な暗記が続かず悩んでいます。
私の経験上、英検１級は単語を制覇しなければ合格できません。
10000～15000語の単語を覚えないといけませんが、準１級に合格してすぐの頃はあまり見たことのない語ばかりで非常に圧倒されました。
単語帳に向き合って勉強しましたが、集中できない時は単語クイズに挑戦して気晴らしをしていました。今回は英検１級によく出る単語クイズを作ってみました。ぜひ試験勉強にお役立て下さい。
【私の体験談】英検１級単語の覚え方
王道：出る準パス単をボロボロになるまで繰り返す
英検１級の語彙はたとえ「出る準パス単」を全部覚えたとしても１，２個載っていないものが出題されることもあります。でも私が試した中で旺文社の出る準パス単の熟語編まで覚えきると、語彙パートで合格ラインが見えてきました。
レストランやクリニック、パスポート申請までいつもこれを持ち歩いて覚えていましたが、時々、どれくらい覚えたか試すのに単語クイズ感覚でスマートフォンのアプリ「Mikan」も使っていました。
多読して単語帳にチェックを入れる
英検１級の勉強をしている時は、毎日オンライン英会話を受けていました。そこでDaily newsや自分が好きな分野の健康、アロマ、ハーブなどの記事をネイティブスピーカーの先生と読んで、意味や使い方を教えてもらっていました。また記事についてディスカッションする中でその語彙を使うことで単語帳だけで覚えるより印象に残り覚えやすかったです。先生と読んで出てきた単語は単語帳にチェックしておき忘れないように工夫しました。
どうしても覚えられないものは画像検索
たとえば、agapeが覚えられなかったとしたら、画像検索すると「口をぽかんと開けた」絵がたくさん出てきます。上のような画像でビジュアル的に覚えてしまいます。脳の違う領域に入った感覚でそこにはまだ空きがある感じで覚えられちゃいました。
語源から覚える
正直、英検１級の単語は似ているものが多すぎるし語源だけでは全ては網羅して覚えられませんが、語源を知っておくと覚えやすくなるものもありました。

最近、中国人の生徒さんに日本語を教えていた時、彼は将来語学学習者になりたいということで、夏休みにラテン語の本を読んでいました。語源はラテン語由来のものが多いので、英検１級の単語を語源から覚える際にちょっと読んでおけばよかったなと思いました。
時間のあるうちに英検を取っておくと、後の受検勉強や大学生活、はたまた留学ととても忙しい時期に余裕がでる。英検で加点や免除があれば、受験で不安な時にとても安心！将来的には通訳案内士や公務員試験でまで優遇があるなんて。。。。
