Describe a person who has had a significant impact on your life.

Answer: There are many people in my life who have had a significant impact on me, but one person stands out above the rest – my grandfather. He was a truly remarkable man who taught me many valuable life lessons and shaped the person I am today.

My grandfather was born in a small village in rural India and grew up in a time when education was not widely available. Despite this, he was a self-taught man who was always eager to learn and improve himself. He instilled in me a love of learning and encouraged me to pursue my passions.

One of the things that I admired most about my grandfather was his resilience and determination. He faced many challenges in his life, including poverty and discrimination, but he never let these obstacles hold him back. Instead, he worked hard to overcome them and create a better life for himself and his family.

Another quality that I admired in my grandfather was his generosity and kindness. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, and he believed in treating everyone with respect and dignity.

Sadly, my grandfather passed away a few years ago, but his legacy lives on in the lessons and values he taught me. I will always be grateful for the time I spent with him and the impact he had on my life.

Talk about a time when you had to overcome a challenge.

Answer: One of the biggest challenges I faced was during my first year of university. I had always been a high achiever in high school, but the transition to university was much more difficult than I anticipated. I struggled to balance my studies with a part-time job and extracurricular activities, and I found myself falling behind in my classes.

At first, I was overwhelmed and discouraged. I had never experienced failure before, and it was a difficult thing for me to accept. However, I realized that I needed to take action if I wanted to turn things around. I made a plan to improve my time management skills, sought out academic support services, and cut back on my extracurricular activities.

It wasn’t an easy process, but over time, I began to see improvements. I started to get better grades on my assignments and exams, and I felt more confident in my abilities. Most importantly, I learned the importance of resilience and perseverance.

Looking back on that experience, I am grateful for the lessons it taught me. I learned that failure is not the end of the world, and that with hard work and determination, you can overcome even the toughest challenges.

Describe a place you would like to visit in the future.

Answer: One place that I have always dreamed of visiting is the beautiful country of New Zealand. With its stunning natural landscapes, friendly people, and unique culture, I believe it would be an unforgettable experience.

One of the things that draws me to New Zealand is its incredible scenery. From the snow-capped peaks of the Southern Alps to the crystal-clear waters of Milford Sound, there is no shortage of breathtaking sights to see. I would love to go hiking in the mountains, explore the many national parks, and take a scenic drive along the coast.

Another aspect of New Zealand that interests me is its rich Maori culture. I am fascinated by the traditions and customs of indigenous peoples, and I would love to learn more about the Maori way of life. From attending a traditional haka performance to trying traditional Maori cuisine, there are many ways to immerse oneself in this vibrant culture.

Additionally, New Zealand is known for its outdoor adventure activities, such as bungee jumping, skydiving, and white-water rafting. While I’m not necessarily an adrenaline junkie, I would be thrilled to try some of these activities and push myself out of my comfort zone.

One thing I appreciate about New Zealand is that it is a relatively small country, which makes it easy to get around and see a lot in a short amount of time. I would love to rent a camper van and drive around the country, stopping at different sights along the way.

Overall, I believe that New Zealand offers a unique and unforgettable travel experience that combines natural beauty, cultural immersion, and outdoor adventure. I hope to have the opportunity to visit this incredible country in the future.

Describe a memorable meal you have had.

Answer: One meal that stands out in my mind was when I traveled to Thailand a few years ago and had the opportunity to try authentic Thai street food. I had always heard that Thai cuisine was delicious, but I had no idea just how amazing it would be.

I remember wandering through the busy streets of Bangkok, with the smell of spices and cooking food filling the air. I stopped at a small food cart where a friendly vendor was selling a dish called pad thai, which is a stir-fried noodle dish with vegetables, peanuts, and sometimes meat or shrimp.

I ordered a plate of pad thai and watched as the vendor expertly cooked the dish in a large wok over an open flame. The flavors and aromas were incredible, with a perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and savory flavors. I was amazed at how much flavor could be packed into such a simple dish.

I sat down at a small table on the street and savored each bite of the pad thai, enjoying the bustling atmosphere around me. It was a truly memorable meal that I will never forget, and it opened my eyes to the amazing diversity of flavors and cuisines that the world has to offer.

Describe a piece of technology that has had a significant impact on your life.

Answer: One piece of technology that has had a significant impact on my life is my smartphone. It has become an indispensable tool that I use every day for communication, entertainment, and productivity.

With my smartphone, I am able to stay connected with friends and family no matter where I am in the world. I can send text messages, make phone calls, and video chat with loved ones, which has been especially important during the pandemic when in-person interactions have been limited.

In addition to communication, my smartphone also provides me with a wealth of information and entertainment. I can access news and social media, stream movies and TV shows, and listen to music and podcasts all from the palm of my hand.

Perhaps most importantly, my smartphone has helped me to be more productive and organized. I can set reminders, make to-do lists, and manage my schedule all through apps on my phone. This has allowed me to be more efficient and effective in both my personal and professional life.

While there are certainly downsides to our reliance on technology, I believe that my smartphone has had a largely positive impact on my life and has made many aspects of daily living much easier and more convenient.

Talk about a book or movie that has had a profound impact on you.

Answer: One book that has had a profound impact on me is “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee. This classic novel explores themes of justice, racism, and social inequality, and its powerful message has stayed with me long after I first read it.

The story is set in the fictional town of Maycomb, Alabama, during the Great Depression and follows the experiences of a young girl named Scout Finch and her family. One of the central plotlines involves Scout’s father, a lawyer named Atticus Finch, who takes on the defense of a black man accused of raping a white woman. The novel explores the deep-seated racism and prejudice that existed in the American South during this time and the moral courage and integrity required to stand up against it.

What I appreciate most about this book is the way it challenges readers to examine their own beliefs and biases. Through the eyes of Scout, we are forced to confront the harsh realities of racism and the damaging effects it can have on individuals and society as a whole.

The character of Atticus Finch is particularly inspiring to me. He is a man of great moral courage and conviction, who stands up for what is right even when it is unpopular or goes against the norms of society. His unwavering commitment to justice and fairness is a powerful example of the kind of person I aspire to be.

Overall, “To Kill a Mockingbird” is a timeless classic that has had a profound impact on me and countless others. Its message of hope and humanity in the face of injustice is as relevant today as it was when the book was first published over 60 years ago.

Describe a place you have visited that had a strong impact on you.

Answer: One place that had a strong impact on me was the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in Poland. This former Nazi death camp is a powerful reminder of the horrors of the Holocaust and the atrocities that were committed against millions of innocent people.

Walking through the camp, I was struck by the stark contrast between its peaceful surroundings and the unimaginable suffering that took place there. The crumbling brick buildings, barbed wire fences, and guard towers were a chilling reminder of the horrors that unfolded within those walls.

What affected me most was the personal stories of the individuals who had been imprisoned in the camp. Exhibits and memorials throughout the camp told the stories of those who had suffered and died there, including children, the elderly, and individuals from all walks of life.

Despite the dark history of the camp, I also felt a sense of hope and resilience among the visitors and staff. The fact that the camp is now a museum and memorial serves as a powerful testament to the importance of remembering the past and learning from it in order to create a better future.

Overall, my visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau was a humbling and emotional experience that had a strong impact on me. It reinforced my belief in the importance of empathy, understanding, and tolerance in building a more peaceful and just world.
